In other league news, the card has been released for the next Queen of the Ring event, No Backing Out. This show is taking a rookies versus veterans theme and after reading the card we think that some of the veterans should take their opponents seriously.

We at Ontrck are impressed with this card. Many people want to see Couture and Phara Funeral battle but believe that a few bars will be dedicated to dissing one another.

Meek Mill’s DC Artist Killed in Louisana

It came as a total surprise that Lil Snupe, 18, was pronounced dead yesterday. The young rapper was signed to Meek Mill’s Dream Chaser’s Records just last year and begin to gain attention from the rap community after a rap battle that took place with an artist signed to DeSean Jackson’s Jackpot Records. Snupe had a promising career as he rapped about his lifestyle and the struggles of living in poverty in Louisiana. He gained Mill’s attention with one listen to a mix-tape that was given to him at a gas station and was signed instantaneously.

Meek Mill then revealed that Rick Ross wanted Lil Snupe to make an appearance on the Maybach Music Group compilation about “Self Made 3.” This would have been Snupe’s first radio single and would have been the launching pad to his career.

Take a look at Snupe’s battle that caught the rap communities attention below. It is a sad occasion to see such talent have their life taken away from them. This just shows us that we have to have a keen eye and watch out for those we care for. Lil Snupe will be missed and his talent unforgettable.

Samsung and Jay-Z Annouce “Magna Carta Holy Grail”

Well it looks like Shawn Carter has made another power move. During game six of the NBA Finals halftime, the world learned the Jay-Z would be releasing his 12th solo project “Magna Carta Holy Grail.” The announcement was made using a three minute commercial featuring Hov and mega producers Pharell Williams, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, and legendary producer Rick Rubin. The album comes as a result of a partnership with phone manufacturer Samsung. The company has purchased 1 million, yes, 1 million copies of the new album.

We last heard from Jay-Z on his collaboration album “Watch the Throne” with Kanye West back in 2011 and most recently on west coast rapper Kendrick Lamar’s remix to “B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe.” The announcement was a surprised to us all. During the commercial you are able to see Jay interact with the producers and you even catch some of the beats that may be used on the album.

4 Years in the Making: Math Hoffa v. T-Rex

Video provided by vladtv.com

Thanks to the Killaz Battle League with DJ Vlad battle rap fans were about to watch two favorites, Math Hoffa and T-Rex, take center stage for a rematch that was four years in the making. The first time both rappers met many people believed the battle was debatable with no clear winner. Well, this time is no different. With Math’s comical bars and schemes and Rex’s heavily street influence lyrics it is hard to declare a winner. Take a look for yourself and decide who delivered the best performance.

Also keep an eye open for the fan fare from the crowd and other rappers in the arena. Both K-Shine and Bonnie Godiva were feeling the electricity of the moment.
